Ingredients

  • to eggs
  • cups milk
  • cups sugar minus tablespoon
  • cups Crisco or Wesson oil
  • tablespoons vanilla
  • pounds Pillsbury all-purpose flour
  • tablespoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Mix eggs and sugar with mixer until well blended.
  • Add oil, milk, and vanilla and mix just until blended.
  • Add of flour slowly and mix until soft but not sticky.
  • Place in a large bowl.
  • Add baking powder and salt.
  • Mix remaining flour, kneading by hand. You may not use all pounds.
  • Cut into sections.
  • Roll each section into a thick roll and cut smaller sections off each roll.
  • Roll each section into a rope and form into an S shape.
  • Spray pans with Pam and bake in oven.
  • Place on bottom shelf for minutes and then place on top shelf for another or minutes, until golden on top.
